If you were a construction worker who performed drywall work on a Maryland Applicators project in Washington, D.C. at any time from January 1, 2019 to March 6, 2023, and you were treated as an independent contractor, you may be eligible for a share of a settlement fund.
You have until April 30, 2024 to apply for a settlement payment.
The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia reached a settlement with Maryland Applicators, Inc. over allegations that the company violated District wage-and-hour laws. As part of the settlement, Maryland Applicators paid $835,000 to the District, of which $346,000 can be used to pay drywall workers who worked on Maryland Applicator job sites in D.C.

To claim your settlement payment, please complete a claim form. To be eligible, you must certify that you performed drywall work for Maryland Applicators or a Maryland Applicators subcontractor on a job site in Washington, D.C., between January 1, 2019 and March 6, 2023. You must also provide contact information for payment distribution purposes.
